DR SIM KUI HIAN CALON FOVOURITE MENANG DUN PENDING

Real heart, real change and real action – this is the pledge SUPP’s nominated candidate Dr Sim Kui Hian is making to the voters of the Pending constituency in Sarawak.

Sim said the opposition has been talking too much on change without any real action.
Dr Sim said change for the better, in real terms, means that public resources and private opportunities must be effectively channelled into Pending.

“It means real action in bringing in more quality education and better job opportunities, real action in setting new standards for a healthy and transparent political culture and real results that bring back the shine to Pending and Kuching,” he added.

A lot of people had left Pending for greener pastures, he said while the older generation stayed back due to lack of opportunity and business overseas.

“I believe a better Pending can be a reality. The transformation must begin today,” he said.

He asked the voters to give him the opportunity to serve them as their elected representative for the next five years and to judge him on his achievements which they can track from his periodical Report Cards.

These Report Cards, starting from the first year of Dr. Sim’s term, will show his progress in achieving the short-term and long-term targets as laid out in his ‘Pending Transformation Plan’, a comprehensive roadmap for change. This plan focuses on major initiatives in seven critical areas: employment opportunities, education, infrastructure, security, health, live ability and political culture.

He said he has already committed to the following targets in his first 100 days:

1. Setting up Local Area Consultative Committees to better understand voters’ real concerns
2. Setting up a Community Service Centre to respond to voters’ queries and address their needs
3. Completing the refund of land renewal lease premiums paid before the discount for those who have registered with the SUPP Pending branch to seek assistance.
4. Increasing police presence in critical crime-prone areas
5. Setting up a public health initiative called ‘Love Your Heart’ to encourage everyone in Kuching to adopt a healthier lifestyle

Dr Sim comes from a family with a long history of serving the people of Sarawak. His father was the former Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Sim Kheng Hong. He came back from Australia 13 years ago to work in Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) and turned down high salaried job in Australia to serve Sarawakian.
